Where MediaMover Moves
Media
Whenever you move media, MediaMover creates a
folder named MediaMover Offline on the
root level of each volume you selected in the
Volumes list. Inside
these folders MediaMover creates a parallel
hierarchy of the original path your media came
from.
Most of the time, it isn't necessary for you to
keep track of where MediaMover is moving media.
MediaMover will automatically track the location
of any media it moves offline or online.
For example, you select a project to move named
MyProject from a volume named
MyVolume.
Avid originally stores the omf media belonging to
MyProject in the following location:
MyVolume/OMFI MediaFiles
And the mxf media belonging to MyProject
in this location:
MyVolume/Avid MediaFiles
MediaMover moves the media
belonging to MyProject to this new
location.
For omf media:
MyVolume/MediaMover Offline/OMFI
MediaFiles/MyProject
And mxf media to:
MyVolume/MediaMover Offline/Avid
MediaFiles/MyProject
Moving the same project on a Unity
or other shared storage system your original
paths might look like this:
MyVolume/EditRoom1/OMFI
MediaFiles or:
MyVolume/EditRoom1/Avid MediaFiles
After moving their new locations
would be:
MyVolume/MediaMover Offline/EditRoom1/OMFI
MediaFiles/MyProject or:
MyVolume/MediaMover Offline/EditRoom1/Avid
MediaFiles/MyProject
Remember, it isn't necessary for
you to keep track of these locations when moving
media. MediaMover will do it for you.
